What causes endometriosis? What are signs that you have it? Can anything be done to avoid infertility due to endometriosis?

Endometriosis is the growth of the endometrium lining (this is the lining that is shed during your period) that deposits in the body where it is not supposed to. It can cause scarring and adhesions in the abdomen area as well as other parts of the body.

Endometriosis can cause painful periods, persistent pain in the pelvic area, infertility and other symptoms. The symptoms can range from mild to severe.

Over 30% of women suffering from endometriosis will be unable to get pregnant.

It is helpful to bring the records from your surgery to your fertility specialist. Knowing the severity of your endometriosis, whether it appears to have caused extensive scarring, and whether it has affected your ovarian reserve will help you and your doctor plan the most appropriate course of treatment. Women with low ovarian reserve who do not conceive with IVF using their own eggs generally have an excellent prognosis with donor egg IVF.

Many women use IVF to get pregnant if they have endometriosis and issues with infertility. It would depend on the severity of the disease and each woman is different. It would be an issue that you should discuss with your doctor and get their thoughts and treatment options.

Hey Shruti hope you are doing good. Well endometriosis is caused by endometrium lining. Which a female body is supposed to shred. There are several reasons for this. Anyone can have this disease. It is a growing concern now a days. As almost every other girl has cyst. If this cyst isnt cured properly. Or the patient fails to follow preventive measures. Then the chances to get endometriosis grow. Pelvic and abdominal pain followed by swelling is the sign that everything is not right. If any girl complains about any such thing. Then you should take her for scanning. An ultrasound can detect the presence of endometriosis signs. Though for verification laparoscopy is required in some cases.

hey SelenaHayes!!! It’s pleasant to hear about your experience. I always appreciate women to share their experience here. Because this gives us courage and hopes to fight with infertility. The second thing is we can get a rough estimation of what’s going on in the medical field. literally, I didn’t know about the medical terms and infertility procedures but now I am confident to talk about on any topic. This is due to this forum. They give me such a platform where I can talk freely and openly to those who have experienced in their lives. But biotexcom has postponed its event. They are saying some issues they are encountering continuously. Soon new dates and venue they will announce. Yet they didn’t take any decision. keep calm and wait for updates. They also give us surety that unless and until they wouldn’t announce new dates to everyone who is interested they will never start their event. Such an honorable decision for their patients. I want to say thanks to them.
